How to use FireMatcher?
The main menu
The main menu under the FireMatcher icon offers you a broad set of tools to analyze documents. You can analyze local files, the currently shown webpage,
selected website text and documents from other applications in the clipboard. Momentarity, the formats .txt, .html, .pdf, .doc and .ppt are supported.
Furthermore, FireMatcher is able to analyze up to 10 documents in one request. You can activate this expert function in the menu entry "Add more than one item".
In this mode, added documents are only analyzed when you select the menu entry "Analyze added items". You can clear them by clicking on "Delete all added items".
The help entry shows this page. In the settings menu you can specify how many MB FireMacher should maximally download when processing web documents.
The FireMatcher icon
The FireMatcher icon is a versatile tool.
- You can drag and drop local documents, selected texts from webpages or links from webpages to the FireMatcher icon in order to let them analyze
- A simple click on the icon starts the local document mode and opens the respective file menu
- You can stop ongoing analyzations (waiting animation visible) by clicking on the icon
The context menus
To analyze the currently shown page press right-click and select the respective menu entry. To analyze a linked document right-click on a link
and select "FireMatcher: Analyze linked document".
To analyze selected website text choose "FireMatcher: Analyze selected text" from the context menu.
Increasing Java-Heap
If you often analyze large documents you should increase Java's heap size to avoid out-of-memory errors.
You can do this by opening the Java Control Panel -> Java -> Settings. In the field Runtime-Parameter enter
the following: -Xms128m -Xmx256m -Xverify:none
